POTTERY
REMUED POTTERY. Made in Australia by The Premier Pottery in Preston (PPP) Victoria. The pottery operated from 1929 until 1956. Remued pottery is not only Australian made but is Australian in character and completely handmade, being thrown by hand on the potters wheel and glazed with the same individual care in the pleasing tonings of green, blue, brown, pink, and mauve, blending colours together to give it's artistic and pleasing appearance. The earliest pieces of pottery were marked in cursive "PPP" in a circle (Preston Premier Pottery). This was followed by Pamela ware and after around 1934 the pottery adopted the name Remued for its line of pottery. For further information, highly recommended is Peter Watson's excellent website... http://www.remued.com and the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre's publication "Gumnuts and Glazes , The story of Premier Pottery,Preston 1929-1956" .
