"New" Old Stuff.... a good word... stuff... we have raised the roofs in our storage sheds (note plural .. roofs .. sheds ) by 2ft and now it is time to put STUFF out into the ether.. and into the shop.. and shed (not the ones with roofs we raised) tears as we attempt over the coming months to loosen the bonds on our collective collecting and get rid of some old stuff so we can buy some new old stuff (thus lowering the collective roofs)(for a short time).... get the picture??? cigarette cards ..the one pictured to the left is pretty interesting .. Australia Day on the 30th of July- During World War I, 30 July 1915 became Australia Day: a way of raising funds for the war by drawing on Australians' pride in their soldiers' achievements at Gallipoli and on their growing confidence in being Australian. |

Cigarette cards ..Standard Cork Tipped handmade cigarettes "pure and sweet" .. about 29 (and still collecting!!) c1909-1910 Australian Rules footballers (WA and Vic)...the one to the left is Bendigo Vernon "rover" playing with Boulder City (WA) .. players from East Fremantle , North Fremantle , Perth , Richmond , Geelong , Carlton etc ... Maybe this was the 1909-1910 Australian Allstars Team ! (who could ever forget the legendary Metherall brothers Billy and Doc...maybe we could get em transfered to the Bombers...ahhhh dreamin again... ) |

"Boosey & Hawkes" Imperial BBb 3 Valve Tuba Finished in satin silver with case (case is a bit shoddy!!).A few small dents .Has a beautiful sound and is one of the better bass (brass) instruments ever made. You can blow just a whisper in it or give it a big puff and it will respond to FFF.... valves and slides are all working. oooommpah pah bass sound ... c1920 ex Salvation Army ... more metal in this than a modern small car!!!... and weighs about the same!! ... the next model of this one had wheels!! (only joking) |
